Overview
As a part of the A+D Design & Marketing Team, I was tasked with leading and participating in a project involving taking a few of the logos from our design program's visual identity and bringing them to life through animation & motion design. Leading a team of two others, we took on three of the logos, and I specifically worked on the primary logo, featuring our illustrated eagle mascot and wordmark.
Approach & Deliverables
After considering a couple possible directions, my team and I voted on a version that had the eagle rising from below, lifting itself into the air before diving into the final logo position. I am not an animator, so this project tested my illustration ability and patience quite a bit. I already had a huge respect for animators, but even more so now that I've gone through a fraction of their processes. Despite its difficulties, I feel this project adds a valuable asset for the team behind Southern Miss Design.
